Plant Specs online has uploaded the specs for three new models Liebherr in its Generation 8 lineup of wheel loaders, the L 526, L 538, and L 546.
These new models boast significant performance improvements over their predecessors, with bucket sizes ranging from 2.2 to 3.0 m³ in the standard versions.
The L 526 model, for instance, delivers 20% more engine power and 20% higher breakout forces compared to the previous generation.
Enhanced power and versatility
The new wheel loaders feature, newly developed, lift arms with optimised z-bar kinematics, reinforced with structural steel enhancements to handle heavy loads.
The lift arms now include larger hydraulic cylinders and more powerful working pumps, allowing for faster cycle times and dynamic work movements, even when using heavy attachments like high dump buckets or log grapples.
For applications requiring frequent attachment changes, the new models offer a view-optimised quick coupler and the fully automatic LIKUFIX quick-coupler system.
This system allows operators to quickly and safely switch between mechanical and hydraulic tools from the cab, reducing downtime and minimizing the risk of accidents.
Liebherr says they have incorporated several details to make daily operations easier and more efficient.
Operators can activate parallel guidance of the lift arms at the push of a button, enabling safe and efficient work with forks.
The new bucket-tilt assist feature is particularly useful when handling sticky materials like damp soil or compost, ensuring precise loading by shaking out the bucket.
The Generation 8 wheel loaders benefit from an optimised hydrostatic travel drive that boosts productivity.
The more powerful engines in these models deliver higher maximum torque at lower nominal speeds, improving performance and efficiency without increasing fuel consumption.
Enhanced hydraulic components, such as larger travel motors and pumps, provide greater traction, resulting in quicker loading cycles.
The axles and travel drive components have been reinforced for increased durability, with larger front or rear axles depending on the model.
The new wheel loaders feature a modern design, including an engine bonnet optimized for better visibility and a comfortable operator’s cab.
Among the equipment options is the active personnel detection system with brake assistant, an optional safety feature that uses smart sensors to distinguish between humans and objects.
This system warns operators of potential dangers in the rear area of the loader and automatically slows the machine to a stop if a person is detected, helping to prevent accidents.
