Part of Astec’s highway-class paver series, the RP175fx has advanced features designed to maximise productivity, safety, and comfort on the job.
With a 2.44m tracked design, the paver is engineered for maneuverability without sacrificing power or stability.
It is powered by a robust engine with options ranging from 129 to 172 kW (173 to 230hp), making it adaptable to different job sizes and paving materials.
Every RP paver, including the RP175fx is equipped with a durable, single-piece steel frame constructed entirely in-house by Astec.
The frame is reinforced with continuous side sheets along the entire length and a 50mm thick front bumper plate, ensuring optimal durability and structural integrity.
This design significantly enhances the paver’s ability to withstand the stresses of demanding jobs over time.
The RP175fx is equipped with heavy-duty hydraulic pumps that drive both the paver and material feed systems.
These hydraulic circuits are designed to operate at cooler temperatures, reducing component wear and extending equipment longevity.
The updated design also features fewer hydraulic connection points, simplifying maintenance and boosting uptime.
The RP175fx features dual operator stations with modern controls, including intuitive joysticks, switches, and touchscreens, ensuring that key functions are always within easy reach.
The operator seats can swing out hydraulically beyond the machine’s edge, providing an unobstructed view down the paver sides for precise material placement.
To maintain an optimal operating environment, the RP175fx employs a dual-fan cooling system that directs air upward and away from both the operator and ground crew.
This configuration minimises heat buildup around the machine, improving comfort and reducing dust levels.
The variable-speed hydraulic fan adjusts automatically based on the load, further reducing noise emissions and enhancing fuel efficiency.
The RP175fx offers three screed options, each equipped with electric heating and thermostat-controlled temperature settings.
These screeds are available with multiple extension configurations, providing flexibility for varying paving widths and applications.
By relocating the generator from the screed to the engine compartment and repositioning the cooling system, the RP175fx achieves a quieter operation, creating a more comfortable environment for operators and nearby crew members.
Additionally, the paver’s material handling system ensures consistent material flow as well as production efficiency.
