Full specs for 46 model line-up of Wacker Neuson RC-2 series compactors are now posted and available to PS Plant Specs Australia’s Online subscribers.
The manufacturer says the revised models offer a powerful and efficient solution for earthmoving tasks.
“Combining good compaction performance, intuitive handling, and maximum driving comfort, these single-drum compactors are designed to meet a wide range of earthmoving needs while boasting more environmentally-friendly, modern engines.
The RC-2 series merges Wacker Neuson’s previous RC series and T4 series into a unified platform, with models ranging in operating weight from 11 to 25 tons.
The diesel engines in these compactors meet regional requirements and offer power outputs between 85 and 160 kW, depending on the model’s weight.
All RC-2 models feature a drum width of 2140 mm.
The manufacturer says that CR variants of the machines are also being introduced. They are equipped with reinforced components for challenging terrains and are especially designed for rocky ground applications.
The RC-2 series is easily recognisable by its new design and the distinctive view channel in the engine hood.
A new frame concept has also been introduced, which increases tank volume.
Consequently, the heavier compactors will now come equipped with a 336L fuel tank, ensuring extended operational periods on construction sites.
Compared to predecessor models, the RC-2 series offers increased compaction power, with centrifugal force boosted by up to 15% and static linear load reaching up to 80.6 kg/cm.
Innovations in steering include a new cast articulated joint with a lock, allowing for greater steering and swing angles with improved kinematics.
The optimised weight distribution, combined with Traction Control, enhances the machine’s gradeability, Wacker Neuson says.
Additionally, the redesigned front vehicle and scraper significantly increase drum clearance, preventing material accumulation.
The RC-2 series incorporates advanced machine management approaches to enhance overall performance.
The integrated ECO mode encourages operators to work within the economical partial-load range, reducing cooling needs.
This mode lowers the operating speed without compromising power, thanks to a large travel pump, thus saving fuel and reducing noise and exhaust emissions.
An optional engine stop system is available to further reduce energy consumption.
