The 1622 is ideal for landscaping, agriculture, construction, and material handling where space is at a premium.

Weighing in at 1,400 kg, the Schaffer 1622 is lightweight enough to be easily transported yet strong enough to handle demanding tasks.

Its articulated steering provides excellent manoeuvrability, allowing it to pivot up to 60 degrees in either direction, with a tight turn circle diameter of just 2,222 mm. This makes it perfect for navigating narrow pathways, barns, or urban job sites where larger machines simply wouldn’t fit.

The P-linkage bucket system ensures smooth and precise load handling, with a bucket capacity ranging from 0.2 m³—ideal for small-scale material movement. Despite its compact size, it delivers an impressive bucket breakout force of 795 kgf and a static tip load of 395 kg, meaning it can tackle tough digging and lifting tasks with ease.

Powering the Schaffer 1622 is the reliable Kubota D902 engine, a three-cylinder, 0.9-litre diesel engine producing 16 kW (21.5 hp) at 3,000 rpm.

Its B100 biodiesel compatibility makes it an environmentally-friendly choice for operators looking to reduce their carbon footprint without compromising performance.

The hydrostatic transmission (HS) ensures smooth operation with one forward and one reverse speed, reaching a maximum travel speed of 16 km/h in both directions.

Optional ride control enhances operator comfort when traversing uneven terrain, while hydraulic service (HS) and drum brakes provide reliable stopping power.

The cab height is 1,990 mm, allowing it to pass through low doorways, yet it provides ample headroom for the operator.

The 900–1,150 mm bucket width ensures excellent visibility when loading and dumping, while 200 mm of ground clearance helps avoid obstacles in rough terrain.
