Built to conquer the toughest terrains and most demanding earthmoving tasks, this 69,150 kg behemoth is engineered for performance, durability, and efficiency.

At the heart of the R972 HD lies the formidable Liebherr D9508 A7 SCR engine, a 16.16-litre, 8-cylinder powerhouse delivering 330 kW (442 hp) at 1800 rpm. 

Compliant with Tier 4f emissions standards, it balances raw power with environmental responsibility, supporting biodiesel use for reduced carbon footprints. 

With two variable displacement axial piston (VDAP) pumps and an additional VDAP pump, the hydraulic system ensures smooth, responsive operation, delivering a combined flow of 1065 L/min at a 350 bar relief pressure.

The R972 HD boasts a bucket breakout force of 31,203 kgf and an arm breakout force of 27,124 kgf, allowing it to tear through the hardest rock and compacted soil. 

Its 4.5 m³ SAE-rated bucket (2200 mm wide) is built for high-volume loading, while its impressive 7,550 mm dig depth and 11,950 mm reach at ground level ensure maximum efficiency in large-scale excavations. 

The 8,050 mm max dump height makes short work of loading massive haul trucks.

Stability is key in heavy excavation, and the R972 HD delivers with a 4,495 mm width and 4,575 mm track length on ground, supported by 600 mm-wide track pads for superior weight distribution. 

Its 4.1 km/h travel speed and impressive gradeability ensure it can navigate challenging job sites. 

The 4270 mm tail-swing radius and 610 mm ground clearance further enhance manoeuvrability in confined or uneven terrain.
