Hitachi says its new ZX17U-5N delivers exceptional performance despite its compact design. As the smallest excavator in the brand’s  lineup, the model is said to combine “advanced engineering, robust durability, and operator-friendly features to make it a good choice for a variety of applications.

The ZX17U-5N is equipped with full hydraulic pilot levers for the front attachment, boom, swing travel, and blade. 

A one or two-way selector valve enables easy switching between attachment modes, allowing for easy transitions between tasks.

The auxiliary function lever includes trigger, horn and analog switches, making it compatible with a range of attachments such as breakers.

The machine’s variable track width undercarriage is designed to navigate confined areas. 

Additionally, its pin-type blade stowage system offers added flexibility and convenience, ensuring the ZX17U-5N can handle challenging terrains without compromising stability or performance.

Wide-open covers provide easy access to key components, while the parallel-arranged cooling package facilitates quick and efficient cleaning.

A three-pillar canopy offers optimal visibility and is compatible with ROPS and OPG standards, ensuring safety during operation.

Boom hoses are routed to minimise exposure to damage, while the application of HN bushings on front attachment joints improves grease retention, extending the life of critical components.
