In the world of mini excavators, the Takeuchi TB225 stands out as a workhorse, blending power, precision, and versatility into a machine that’s as reliable as it is efficient according to its manufacture.

Since its introduction in 2019, this mini excavator has carved out a reputation as being a go-to solution for contractors and operators across Australia, whether they’re tackling urban construction, landscaping, or utility work.

Measuring 4,180mm in transport length, 1,100mm to 1,500mm in width (depending on configuration), and 2,355mm in height, this machine is nimble enough to navigate confined job sites without sacrificing performance.

Its tail-swing radius of 1,240mm ensures minimal disruption to surrounding areas, while the 190mm ground clearance allows it to traverse rough terrain.

Whether you’re working in a bustling city centre or a remote rural location, the TB225 is built to adapt.

Powered by a Yanmar 3TNV82A diesel engine, the TB225 delivers 16.6 kW of power at 2,200 rpm, ensuring smooth and efficient operation under demanding conditions.

The engine is B10 biodiesel-compatible, making it a more environmentally friendly choice for operators looking to reduce their carbon footprint.

With a 1.33-litre displacement and three cylinders, this engine strikes a balance between fuel efficiency and performance.

Featuring two variable displacement axial piston pumps and one gear pump, it delivers a combined flow rate of 63.8 litres per minute (25.3 x 2 + 13.2).

This ensures responsive and precise control of the excavator’s attachments, whether you’re digging, lifting, or grading.

The system’s relief valve pressure is set at 210 bar for the main pumps and 196 bar for the gear pump, providing ample force for even the toughest tasks.

With a bucket breakout force of 1,968 kgf and an arm breakout force of 1,305 kgf, the TB225 can handle heavy-duty digging and lifting.

One of the features of the TB225 is its offsettable boom, which allows for greater flexibility and reach in confined spaces.

With a maximum dig depth of 2,580 mm and a reach at ground level of 4,250 mm, this machine can tackle a wide range of tasks without requiring constant repositioning.

The standard bucket capacity of 0.064 cubic metres and a bucket width of 440 mm make it ideal for precise excavation and material handling.

Additionally, the TB225 comes equipped with a dozer blade as standard, providing added stability and versatility for grading and backfilling.

With a transport speed of 2.5 km/h in low range and 4.2 km/h in high range, the TB225 can easily move around the worksite or between job locations.

Its robust undercarriage, with a track length on the ground of 1,415 mm and track pad width of 250 mm, provides excellent stability and traction on uneven terrain.

The machine’s gradeability of 67% ensures it can handle steep inclines with confidence, making it a reliable choice for a variety of applications.
