The new Komatsu HD605-10 rigid dump truck sets a benchmark in the construction and mining industries with its powerful, environmentally-friendly design, according to its maker.
It features improvements aimed at maximising efficiency and operator comfort.
At the heart of the HD605-10 is the Komatsu SAA6D170E-7 engine, which delivers high performance while maintaining fuel efficiency.
The truck is equipped with an enlarged high-efficiency cooling system featuring a closed loop design, ensuring optimal performance in demanding conditions.
Operators will also benefit from selectable operating modes that incorporate new fuel-saving features, as well as an adjustable auto idle shutdown to further enhance efficiency.
It also comes with the Komatsu Traction Control System (KTCS) for improved performance on challenging terrains.
Hydraulically-controlled, wet multiple-disc brakes and a retarder in the rear axle, combined with Auto Retard Speed Control (ARSC) make adjustments based on load status and provide good control and safety.
Reliability and ease of maintenance were also top priorities for Komatsu in the HD605-10.
The truck features a hydraulically-driven, reversible cooling fan and a modular radiator core system for improved durability.
High-power density axles, centralised greasing points, and centre arrangement of filters simplify maintenance tasks.
Safety is enhanced with full LED lighting, brake performance check guidance, and several optional features, including a four-point seat belt, ABS brakes and a ‘Drowsiness Detection System’ are offered.
The ergonomically-designed cab includes a heated and ventilated air suspension seat, and boasts low noise levels for a quieter working environment.
A high-resolution LCD colour monitor provides clear visibility of important information, while the hydro-pneumatic suspension with a front A-arm structure ensures a relatively smooth ride.
