Komatsu has announced the introduction of a new portfolio of demolition excavators to the North American market.
The models PC490HRD-11, PC290LC-11, PC360LC-11, and PC490LC-11, some of which have been operating in Australia and Europe for years, are now available to North American customers.
They offer job site efficiency and productivity, according to the manufacturer.
The PC490HRD-11 demolition excavator has the K100 boom change system, allowing operators to start work within minutes of arriving at a job site and minimising downtime for boom changes.
This machine can reach heights of up to 31m and comes with a full demolition guarding package.
It also features good visibility from a 45-degree tilting cab and an informative human/machine interface panel.
The PC290LC-11, PC360LC-11, and PC490LC-11 straight boom excavators offer 22%-26% more reach than standard excavators, says Komatsu.
These models are designed for tough demolition jobs, equipped with robust protection elements such as a heavy-duty revolving frame, under guards, bucket cylinder guard, boom light protection guards, and reinforced attachment linkage.
Additionally, these excavators can be easily customised to program up to 15 different tools, enhancing their versatility on the job site.
Komatsu’s new demolition excavators can be paired with quick couplers and Montabert demolition attachments, further increasing their versatility and functionality.
This combination allows the machines to handle a wider range of demolition tasks efficiently.
“Komatsu understands that the demolition industry is a fast-growing and evolving segment that demands new product innovation,” said Bruce Boebel, Director of Products and Services.
“We are excited to now offer this family of demolition excavator solutions to support the industry. These machines provide the ability to quickly customise for different working environments, offering versatility and efficiency at the job site.”
