JD expands P-Tier lineup with revised compact wheel loader

John Deere has introduced the 326 P-Tier telescopic small wheel loader to its lineup of P-Tier compact equipment in the North American market.

Building on the design of the 324 P-Tier version, the new 326 P model features purpose-built telescoping linkage, offering an impressive reach of over 4.8m while maintaining the compact dimensions necessary for operation in tight spaces.

The telescopic lift arm on the 326 P allows operators to perform tasks with improved lifting power, controlled via a mini-joystick located on the main control lever.

The manufacturer says that this feature is designed to boost operator efficiency and ease of use, making it suited for worksites that require both power and precision.

To enhance safety and stability, the 326 P is equipped with a new system dubbed Load Torque Indicator.

This provides visual and audible alarms if the machine’s stability limits are exceeded during lifting, lowering, or extending operations.

If these limits are reached, the machine restricts further movement unless it improves the load’s stability, ensuring the loader operates within safe parameters while maximising performance.

“Introducing innovative, user-friendly equipment that enhances operator confidence and machine capability is a top priority for us,” said Emily Pagura, product marketing manager at John Deere.

“The 326 P exemplifies our commitment to helping customers reach new heights in their work. With easily controllable telescopic arms and an intelligent overload warning system, this model is designed for operators of all experience levels and is equipped to tackle a wide range of jobsite challenges.”

The cab includes a 23cm touchscreen display that allows operators to customise electro-hydraulic controls, including Auto Return-to-Dig and Auto Lift and Lower functions, which streamline loading and stacking processes, reduce cycle times, and boost productivity.

The touchscreen display provides critical information such as warnings, machine status, and positioning, all in an easy-to-read format.

Operator visibility has been significantly enhanced in the 326 P, with an overhead window equipped with a dedicated wiper blade, optional boom-mounted lights, and standard LED lighting.

These features ensure that operators maintain clear sightlines, even in challenging job conditions, improving confidence and safety.

In addition, the 326 P retains key features found in John Deere’s compact wheel loader lineup, including a standard top speed of 37 km/hr, enabling faster travel between job locations.

The loader’s industry-exclusive Articulation Plus steering system provides a full 30 degrees of articulation, along with 10 additional degrees of rear-wheel steering, making it highly maneuverable in tight spaces.
