Bomag steams ahead with new single-drum roller range

Bomag’s latest line of single drum rollers includes the models BW 211 to BW 226, along with specialised variants BW 226 BVC, BW 226 RC and BW 226 DI

The maker says these new machines are designed to deliver top compaction performance, enhanced operational flexibility, and superior safety features and are ideal for a wide range of construction applications.

A key feature of these new Bomag rollers, it adds, is the VARIOCONTROL system, which allows operators to adjust the intensity of action seamlessly, ranging from gentle compaction to deep soil penetration.

This focused compression action ensures maximum compaction power, making the rollers highly effective on various terrain types.

The new rollers come equipped with specialised drum options to tackle demanding tasks.

The polygonal drum is engineered for maximum depth penetration, ideal for projects requiring substantial soil compaction.

Additionally, the rock crushing drum variant is available for on-site stone crushing and grinding, eliminating the need for extra equipment and streamlining the construction process.

Bomag has integrated advanced technologies which it calls the ‘Terrameter’ and ‘Economizer’, which provide real-time monitoring of compaction progress.

The BCM05 system, in conjunction with GPS, allows for precise documentation of the compaction process, ensuring high-quality results and efficient project management.

The new models feature a large cabin with excellent all-around visibility, enhancing operator comfort and safety.

The ROPS/FOPS structure further ensures maximum safety during operation.

Additionally, the maintenance-free articulated joint and easily accessible maintenance points simplify upkeep, reducing downtime and operational costs.

Bomag boasts that the new rollers have a climbing ability of 60% – or more – thanks to a double pump system, and a self-locking differential that prevents wheelspin, ensuring reliable performance even on challenging slopes.

These machines are also designed to operate efficiently at all altitudes and can handle extreme temperatures ranging from -25 to +54 °C. The inclusion of ECOMODE technology enhances fuel efficiency, reducing operational costs and environmental impact.
