Access full specs for new Case excavator that boasts 10% responsive boost

Case Construction Equipment has launched the CX490D excavator and the specs have been uploaded to PS Plant Specs Online.

The CX490D brings significant improvements in reliability, efficiency, and ease of use, making it a good choice for demanding job sites, according to its maker.

The CX490D features a newly redesigned boom and arm, optimised through advanced stress analysis to reduce pressure points and improve durability.

The undercarriage has also been reengineered for better welding efficiency and increased component size, offering greater protection.

Its One-Side-Slope lower frame simplifies undercarriage cleaning, further enhancing machine reliability and reducing downtime.

Electrically-controlled pumps enable faster cycle times, while oil flow adjusts dynamically based on working conditions, improving machine responsiveness by up to 10% compared to previous models.

With multiple working modes — including A Mode for precision, H Mode for balanced productivity and fuel efficiency, and SP Mode for maximum power — operators can tailor the machine’s performance to suit the task at hand.

The Auto Power Boost feature automatically increases hydraulic pressure when necessary for the toughest jobs.

The CX490D excels in fuel efficiency, thanks to its advanced hydraulic system that reads load pressure in real time to adjust power output. This system incorporates five energy-saving controls, including torque control to prevent engine overload, Boom Economy Control for fuel-efficient boom operations, and Swing Relief Control for managing hydraulic power during slewing.

Additionally, the machine offers idle and auto-shutdown functions to minimise fuel consumption during periods of inactivity.

The CX490D cab provides ample legroom, and the fully-adjustable workstation features a high-back air suspension seat with optional heating and tilt adjustment for maximum comfort.

The excavator’s interior is equipped with a 178mm colour LED monitor, Bluetooth tuner, and several conveniences like a mobile phone holder, 12V charger, and a warm/cool box.

Case states that safety is a top priority in the CX490D, featuring a reinforced cab structure that complies with ROPS/FOPS standards and an optional 270-degree Maxi View Monitor with three cameras, giving operators a panoramic view of their surroundings.

The excavator also offers optional LED lighting for better visibility in low-light conditions and a travel alarm to enhance job site safety.

Maintenance on the CX490D has been streamlined to ensure that daily service checks and repairs are quick and easy.

All filters and fill points are grouped for ground-level access, and the engine oil change interval is extended to 500 hours.

The radiator and cooler cores are mounted side by side for better accessibility, while the standard refueling pump comes with an automatic cut-off feature.

Additionally, the CX490D’s Extended Maintenance System bushings require greasing only every 1,000 hours, significantly reducing maintenance frequency.
